PUSD webinar tomorrow + 2 more quick actions this week

Sep 29 2025

1. Schools

Parents across Altadena and Pasadena are asking: Are our schools safe? What’s the rebuilding plan?

We’re bringing in the big guns: PUSD Board President Jennifer Hall Lee and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Blanco — and in late-breaking news, also joining is Facilities Director Mike Dunning.

This will be a live, parent-moderated Zoom discussion.

Our guides: Mayka Mei, moderator of our PUSD Discord channel and an Altagether Neighborhood Captain, and Anna Yeager, PTA President at Altadena Arts Magnet.

2. Insurance

How can you fight illegal delays and denials? Share your story. This Friday.

The insurance industry is spending millions lobbying lawmakers, telling them they’re fulfilling our claims.

But here’s the reality: 70% of insured Eaton and Palisades survivors report delays, denials, or underpayments that are derailing recovery. That’s most of us.

The #1 thing you can do to fight back is expose the truth.

At our EFSN Community Dinner this Friday, October 3, I’ll be outside filming short 2–3 minute interviews all evening. Just three questions:

1. How long have you been paying your insurance premiums?

2. When you actually needed your insurance, what happened?

3. What’s been the impact on you and your family?

Join us, share your story, then stay for dinner with the best group of survivors you’ll ever meet.

3. Edison

Oh one last thing: Survivor Community Draft for Edison

Hot off the presses is our draft set of demands in response to Edison’s deeply flawed compensation proposal. Our goal: to make sure every future settlement offer is fair, inclusive of all survivors — including you.

To achieve that, we need your input.

Please read the draft, complete the questionnaire, and share it with others. Please do so ASAP as we hope to receive your comments by end of day this Wednesday Oct. 1

Three chances this week to take action: get answers on schools, share your truth on insurance, and help shape our Edison community draft.

All our best,
Joy and the whole EFSN Team
