The California Community Foundation backed EFSN in our first year, when funding allowed a volunteer survivor network to become an organization built for the long recovery ahead.
Then they watched what survivors did with that investment.
Insurance payments moved. Survivor evidence drove investigations. Families who had spent months fighting alone began getting checks, some as large as $2 million.
CCF invested again, making a second major grant to support EFSN’s second year.
Now CCF is telling the story of why.
In its new feature, “How the Every Fire Survivor’s Network Is Changing Who Gets to Recover,” CCF calls EFSN a national model for how survivors can organize and accelerate their own recovery.
