Recovering together — faster and stronger

In three decades of living in Los Angeles, I’ve seen many tragedies—both natural and manmade. Yet what always amazes me is how, again and again, people here find strength in one another and build community, as we must now, with ICE raids shaking families across our region. 

When survivors unite, we create change. Today is proof of that.

The State Farm investigation we’ve been fighting for was officially announced yesterday by Commissioner Lara.

This week marks five months since the fire that upended all our lives.

I feel incredibly fortunate that my family and I have completed remediation and moved back into our home. That was possible only because our insurer (USAA) promptly handled everything: testing, remediation, retesting, re-remediation, through a single, responsive, and caring adjuster. 

And that’s why my heart breaks every time I hear what so many of you are still going through.

EFSN Community Update: Week of May 30th

This past week, we hosted the first-ever gathering of Eaton & Palisades fire survivors to gain access to the insurance payouts we need to recover and rebuild. We were joined by some of the world’s most powerful journalists and legal advocates – all committed to shine a light on what’s really happening with our insurance payouts, and to help us secure the payouts we’re owed. And to fight against insurance fraud.
