Help Stop Insurer Misconduct
Aug 22 2025
Breaking news: This Monday, 8/25, at 8 am in Altadena, Assemblymember John Harabedian will lead a press conference in partnership with the Eaton Fire Survivors Network to demand that the California Department of Insurance take immediate action to stop illegal insurer misconduct.
And you’re invited! But you’ll need to act fast.
Unlike our incredible 6-month fire anniversary event, where 400+ of you showed up strong, this one will be indoors, in a room that only holds 100 people. With speakers and media attending, we’ll only have space for 75 guests total.
It’s going to be maybe just a little epic—and I’d love for you to play hooky from work and join us.

If you can’t make it, no worries. On Monday, we’ll share details about the five urgent actions we’re calling on Commissioner Lara can act on immediately to enforce the law.
Sneak peek: California already has some of the strongest consumer protection laws in the nation. The problem? They’re not being enforced. A Department of Angels survey found that over 70% of insured Eaton and Palisades survivors report that delays, denials, and underpayments are derailing their recovery.
That’s why we’re asking Commissioner Lara to take urgent action.
We never wanted to have to fight for the insurance benefits we already paid for with our premiums, or the regulatory protections we pay for with our taxes. But when insurer misconduct is robbing the future that we have worked so hard to build for our families, we will fight back.
We don’t have million-dollar lobbyists or billion-dollar ad budgets. All we have is each other, and our resolve to reclaim the future we’ve worked so hard to build for our families.
Were You Forced to Clean Your Own Home After the Fire?
Did you return home after the fire without full commercial remediation? Maybe your insurance didn’t cover it. Maybe the cleanup crews were booked. Or maybe you were just desperate to get your family back home.
A globally recognized news organization is launching an investigative story about how remediation affects survivor health. As part of the story, they’re covering the cost of full scientific testing of homes like yours.
Here’s what that includes:
Free professional environmental testing of your home
Full access to all test results
A comparison of your results with another home that received full commercial remediation

Use AI to Maximize Your Insurance Claim
One of the most amazing things about our Discord community is the deep expertise and generosity of EFSN members. Two of our members, both named Andrew, have been using AI to help hundreds of survivors maximize their insurance claims—and now they’re sharing their knowledge with all of us.
Andrew King is a total loss survivor.
Andrew Wessels is a smoke damage survivor.
Both are AI pros. And both have been there.
So, we invited them to lead a special two-part series called AI With the Andrews. In each session, they shared their best tips, tools, and real-life AI prompts to help you get the coverage you’re owed.
Last week: Andrew King (total loss survivor) walked us through his AI workflow and released a powerful toolkit.

This week: Andrew Wessels (smoke damage survivor) showed how to use AI to organize claims, write better letters, and get smoke damage covered.

Whether you’re dealing with a total loss or smoke damage, both webinars are packed with game-changing insights. Two experts. Two approaches. One goal: to help you get what you’re owed—faster and more fully.
